Instructional Designer and eLearning Developer
I once saw a quote that said, "Never stop learning, because life never stops teaching." This quote stuck with me because it describes who I am: a lifelong learner. As an Instructional Designer and eLearning Developer, I implement effective training to help others also be lifelong learners.
I am an Instructional Designer experienced in designing engaging learning materials . I am also a big picture person, so I like to see the scope of the project and then work backwards to develop all the components.
I bring superior organizational skills, creativity, and attention to detail in all my projects, and have excellent communication and presentation skills. I am proficient in eLearning tools such as Articulate Storyline and Rise 360, as well as Microsoft Office and Google suite. I also have experience in developing my own assets in Canva, Camtasia, and Vyond. I follow the ADDIE design model when approaching any new project, focusing first on fully assessing the needs and learning gaps before designing instruction. This approach allows me to design a learning solution that will bring the desired change in knowledge or behavior for my learners.
I have spent my career designing and developing learning materials and presenting them in a variety of settings. Recently I have felt drawn to something new, but knowing that learning is at the core of who I am, I wanted to stay involved with lifelong learning somehow. Instructional Design is the perfect way for me to utilize my skills with adult learners, who also need relevant and applicable professional development and training. Making this career change also allows me to still be involved with helping others, another core value for me. Instructional Design and learning development provide the perfect transition for me!
